India’s leading stainless steel producer, Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL), has ordered a new production line including an argon oxygen decarburisation (AOD) converter, a new ladle furnace, a continuous casting machine and related de-dusting machines for its Jajpur plant in Odisha. All the equipment will be supplied by London-based Primetals Technologies. The new production line will increase the capacity of JSL’s Jajpur plant to 2.2 mn t/year, more than double its current capacity. The commissioning is expected by late-2022.
