South Korean steel major – POSCO has signed a term contract with west India pellet maker – Jindal SAW, SteelMint learned from a market source.
The pellet maker will supply four export vessels carrying 55,000 MT pellets each till Dec’19.
According to data maintained with SteelMint, vessel named ‘Nautical Georgia’ is seen at Mundra port for loading pellets.
Jindal SAW operates a 1.5 MnT pa pellet plant in Bhilwara, Rajasthan and also a key source of raw material to Gujarat based steel mills.
Prior to this, the steelmaker was also learned to have signed pellet export contract with an East India based pellet maker for a quantity of around 200,000 MT pellets.
