Western India-based Jindal SAW Ltd. recorded total pellet production at 425,900 t in Q1FY’23 against 361,000 t in Q1FY’22. Meanwhile, total sales for the quarter were recorded at 295,200 t. The imposition of export duty on pellets resulted in a correction in pellet prices. However, with production capacity of 1.5 mnt/year, the company anticipates sustainable profit margins, thanks to captive iron ore mines.
