Iron Pellet manufacturers based in the state of Odisha continue to offer Pellets at prices equal to last week of May.
According to Pellet producers, “it is important that Sponge iron prices (now range bound) move up.
Pellet offers have been stable during the first week of June as they are standing at quite low levels and domestic Iron ore prices did not meet with any downtrend for this month.
Chances are less that any further correction might take place in the week ahead”.
One of the Pellet makers is likely to resume production around mid of June, that has been kept on hold since the beginning of May.
Prevailing Pellet Prices (Rs/MT):
*Barbil 7,000-7,100
Keonjhar 6,800-6,850
Jharsuguda 7,200
Ex works prices, Loaded to wagons*
Brahmani River Pellet Limited (BRPL):
It is anticipated that BRPL might start commercial operations of its 4 MnT Pellet plant by mid-June as issues regarding the slurry pipeline (beneficiation plant in Barbil connected by a 220 km underground slurry pipeline to its Pellet plant in Jajpur – Odisha) might be resolved in a couple of days.
The company expects to produce about 30,000-40,000 MT of the raw material in the first couple of weeks.
