Major merchant miners have kept Iron ore prices unchanged as of now. Sources mentioned that there are chances of price revision in the short run if the banned mines in Odisha and Jharkhand are allowed to resume operations.
MMDR Amendment Act, 2015 which was passed by The Rajya Sabha on 20 Mar, 2015 bought a matter to cheer for the miners. On 25 Mar, 2015 the Odisha High Court after hearing petitions filed by several miners, ordered the state government to allow operations at the mines which were shut for 2nd deemed renewal in line with MMDR Act. State based miners are hopeful about the fact that state government may allow mining by end of this month with certain terms & conditions.

Essel Mining has also kept its prices unchanged as of now. Other merchant miner namely Serajuddin Mines is offering 5-18 mm Fe 63% at INR 4,850/MT and fines of same grade at INR 2,250/MT (prices are as per loaded into wagons and including royalty).
Iron Ore Prices remain Unchanged in Jharkhand: Rungta Mines is offering Fe 63% fines at INR 2,800/MT (as per loaded into wagons in Jharkhand).
