Odisha: Iron Ore Prices remain Unchanged

Major miners of Iron ore in Odisha like Rungta Mines, Serajuddin mines and Indrani Patnaik have rolled over Iron ore prices for rest of the month owing to stable demand in the market.

The prices are revised twice in a month, but from last one month, there is no change in Iron ore prices. Only, Serajuddin mines revised its prices in mid of December after getting environmental clearance.

On the first week of December, it was the last when miners like Rungta mines, Essel minning and KJS Aluwalia raised its offers for Iron ore by INR 200/MT.

A Source based in Keonjhar told, “There is demand for Iron ore in Odisha and outside Odisha, but owing to government limitation regarding Iron ore supply, we are not able to cater the buying groups and hence cannot even rise the price.”

Supreme Court has allowed auction around 4 MnT of Iron ore stock at various mines in Goa. This would increase the supply of Iron ore in market and also may affect the prices of Iron ore offered in various mines.
