Around 5,000 t of 4,200 GAR grade Indonesian coal was heard to be sold at INR 6,450/t, ex-Tuticorin port, on 29 Jun’21. In another deal tracked by CoalMint, 5,000 t of 3,500 GAR grade coal was sold at INR 4,750/t, with the condition of advance payment being in place. Demand for relatively cheap low-CV coal remains strong as industries such as steel, textile, paper and sugar were heard importing such grades of coal in small quantities. Stock availability of high-CV Indonesian coal is tight due to robust buying interest from China.
