Amid the prevailing coal shortage in India and rising demand for imported coal, Indian buyers have booked Indonesian 3400 GAR coal at a whopping premium of $10/t over the ICI index. Premiums for 4200 GAR grade coal are also reported at similar levels. The ICI index price for 3400GAR and 4200GAR coals are at $73/t and $143/t respectively.
