India’s Ministry of Finance announced recently, the anti dumping duties on Chinese aluminium foil imports of up to 80 microns, excluding foils under 5.5 microns for non-capacitor use. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) found dumping by multiple Chinese firms, harming domestic producers. India imported 140,234 tonnes from China in early 2024, a 15.64% y-o-y increase, prompting action to curb excessive imports, as per reports.
