India’s total Non-coking Coal imports rose by 21% to 2.7 MnT during the week ended on 8 Mar, 2014.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 2.7 MnT at the end of week 10, which has increased from 2.3 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported, around 70% was Non-coking Coal comes from different destination.
India has imported around 2.3 MnT from Indonesia in the period of week 10 and registered a jump of 11% against the prior week.
Most of the Non-coking Coal is imported from Indonesia, South Africa & Australia. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.03 MnT from Australia which belongs to JSW Steel. About 0.42 MnT arrived from South Africa which has imported by Adani Power, Rungta Mines, MBG Commodities, Parashakti & K I International.
Considering 33 major & minor Indian ports, Mundra has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.79 MnT of Coal. Contribution of quantity was given by Coastal Gujarat Power, Adani Power & Adani Enterprises. Krishnapatnam is the second highest quantity port imported around 0.35 MnT of Non-coking Coal.
SteelMint assessed that Adani Power & Coastal Gujarat Power are the major importers of Non-coking at the week ended on 8 Mar, 2014. Adani Power has imported about 0.38 MnT from Indonesia & South Africa. Coastal Gujarat Power has imported around 0.32 MnT of Indonesian Non-coking Coal at Mundra port.
