India’s total Coking Coal imports raise by 21.8% to about 1.3 MnT during the week ended on 29 Mar, 2014.
At the end of week 13, India has imported around 1.3 MnT Coking Coal, assessed by SteelMint. Total imported quantity has increased from 1 MnT of preceding week. India’s weekly import comprises 25% Coking Coal, comes from different destination.
The week ended on 29 Mar, 2014 India has imported total quantity from Australia & South Africa, the major suppliers of Coking Coal. Out of the weekly imports, India imported around 1 MnT from Australia and registered a jump of 10.8% against the prior week. About 0.2 MnT imported from South Africa at Dhamra port belongs to Concorde.
Vizag port has imported highest quantity i.e. around 0.33 MnT of Coal. Whole quantity belongs to SAIL & Bhushan Power & Steel as per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports. The second highest quantity port was Gangavaram, imported around 0.21 MnT that belongs to JSPL & RINL.
SAIL & Concorde are the major importers of Coking Coal at the end of week 13 and imported around 0.32 MnT & 0.19 MnT respectively. JSW Steel has imported around 0.15 MnT Coal from Australia at Mormugao port.
The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag & Karaikal.
