- State-owned Hindustan Copper Ltd is considering increasing its copper ore production to 12.2 mnt per annum by FY29 in its first phase of expansion, as per latest reports.
- This is to boost domestic production of copper metal to reduce dependence on imports. The company further plans to increase its output to 20.2 mntpa after the completion of its first phase of capacity expansion.
