Heavy structure steel price in Raipur – one of the major supplying markets in central India, declined by INR 1,000/t d-o-d, SteelMint learned from trade sources. However, on a w-o-w basis, offer increased by INR 2,000/t owing to rising raw material (sponge iron) costs. The current offer for 150 mm channel stands at INR 49,000/t. The manufacturers also offer trade discounts depending on booking quantity and payment terms. Weak demand for structural steel and fall in billet prices have resulted in drop in offers, sources shared.
