Heavy structural steel prices in Raipur – one of the major supply markets in central India – declined by INR 1,500/t today, SteelMint learnt from trade sources. The current offer for 150 mm channels stands at INR 45,000/t. As per sources, the offer prices reduced sharply in order to control the trade discount which was trending in the range of INR 1,000-1,400/t till 27 May’21. That apart, weak demand for structural steel and falling raw material costs have contributed to the decline in structural steel prices.
