A Gujarat-based integrated mill concluded an export deal for 15,000 t of commercial-grade billet at $440-$442/t FOB Kandla. The shipment is destined for Africa. In the domestic market, billet (100*100 mm) prices in Ahmedabad are at INR 39,200-39,300/t FOR. A steady improvement in demand for semi-finished steel encouraged moderate booking. Sources say that prices are likely to remain supported in the near term.
