Ministry of Power has waived Inter-state Transmission System (ISTS) charges for new hydro power projects that have executed award of construction work and power purchase agreement (PPA) till 30 Jun’25. Post which, ISTS charges would be levied as percentage share based upon period of construction award and PPA execution. This dispensation would be applicable for 18 years from a plant’s commissioning date.
