Along with 16 other ports of the country including Chennai, Cochin and Kandla, Hazira port in the western state of Gujarat has been included in the list of designated ports for imports of unshredded metallic scrap and waste. Under the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020, the Director General of Foreign Trade included Hazira in the list of ports for scrap imports through a notification dated 1st Dec ’20.
