In an attempt to ensure sufficient coal supplies to power plants, the Ministry of Power has directed captive coal mines to produce and supply coal to the power plants up to their maximum permitted limit. Unloading time of coal from rakes should be reduced, while the overdue amount of coal companies should be paid in time to mitigate any supply shortfall at power utilities.
