India: Godawari Power and Ispat Pellet Production Up 33% Y-o-Y in Q3 FY20

Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) – one of the major pellet producers based in central India has released its operational results for the third quarter of FY’20 ending Dec’19.

Key operational performance highlights in Q3 FY20:

1) Pellet production up 33% Y-o-Y in Q3 FY20: Company has produced 577,350 MT pellets in Q3 FY20 (Q4 CY19), up by 33% against 435,300 MT in Q3 FY19. On quarterly basis, output picked up 15% compared to 504,100 MT in Q2FY20. The production at ASL recorded 4% increase Y-o-Y at 193,175 MT in Q3FY20.

2) Pellet sales up 22% Y-o-Y: Company sold 383,680 MT pellets in Q3 FY20, up 22% Y-o-Y compared to 314,395 MT in Q3FY19. On quarterly basis, company’s pellet sales increased 6% as against 363,604 MT in Q2 FY20. Pellet sales from its ASL stood at 194,365 MT in Q3 FY20 (up 15% on a yearly basis). Ex plant realization dropped to INR 5,742 in Q3 FY20 against INR 6,617 in previous quarter.

3) Captive iron ore production up 16% Y-o-Y for the quarter: Iron ore production from its captive mines stood at 449,554 MT for third quarter FY20, recording 16% rise against 387,657 MT in Q3 FY19. On quarterly premises, output increased sharply by 46% as compared to Q2FY20 at 307,286 MT.

4) Steel billet production up 9% for Q3FY20: Company’s Steel Billet production has increased to 91,785 MT in Q3 FY’20, up 9% compared to 84,130 MT in Q3 FY19. On quarterly basis, the company has increased production by 16% against 79,290 MT in Q2 FY20.

5) MS Rounds output up in Q3 FY20: Company’s MS Rounds production was 48,893 MT in Q3FY’20, up 4% compared to 46,917 MT in third quarter FY19. On quarterly basis, the company’s production increased marginally against Q2 FY20 at 47,923 MT.

6) HB Wire Production: Company’s HB wire production in the quarter ending Dec’19 (Q3 FY20) was up by 16% to 38,459 MT compared to 33,088 MT in Q3FY19. The production picked up 14% against Q2 FY20 at 33,785 MT.

Key Updates-

—Rolling mill of 200,000 MT is commissioned, trial production is commenced and environmental clearance is received. The company is aiming towards 100% captive utilisation of sponge iron for increased production of steel billet. Expected savings of INR 1,000/MT on incremental production of rolled products.
