Directorate of Mines & Geology (DMG) of Goa has announced e-auction for 2.495 MnT iron ore on 27th May’20. DMG has notified lots for upcoming e-auctions which would be 23rd auction to be conducted. Below are details of the e-auction:-
–Majority of the quantity put under auction is of low-grade with the highest grade (as per DMG analysis) reaching Fe 59.22%.
–Out of the total offered quantity, 1.81 MnT is ROM with grade ranging from Fe 27.6-57.74%, 0.6 MnT is fines having Fe content 18.6-59.22% and 0.07 MnT is lump ranging from Fe 38.94-53.8%.
Out of the total material put to auction, about 34% material is from Bandekar Brother Pvt Ltd at 0.85 MnT, followed by Kunda R Gharse at 0.27 MnT and Soc. Timblo Irmaos Ltda (Pti) at 0.24 MnT. Other major suppliers include Emco Goa Pvt Ltd, V.G. Quenim (Late), Shri Zacarias Antao (Late) and Timblo Enterprises.
Towards 15th July’19, the Honorable Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had declared the beginning of e-auction of material lying at jetties and plots.
The 22nd Goan iron ore e-auction held on 22nd and 23rd Aug’19, received bids for only 39% (i.e 2.06 MnT) of total material put to auction and remaining 3.28 MnT remained unsold. Total quantity put for auction was about 5.341 MnT.
The Honourable Supreme Court of India, on 30th Jan’20 allowed mining firms to transport the validly mined ore from the Goan mines if they have paid the royalty to the government and mined before 15 Mar’18. The miners are permitted to transport the royalty paid mineral from the jetties, stockyard or pitheads only if they bear the valid transit permit issues. The material is to be transported within six months starting from 30th Jan’20.
