Mini Steel Plant Association of Raipur (Chhattisgarh), that went on strike from 3rd August to protest against the rising cost of power in the state, resumed their production today.
The strike was called off after CM assured association for taking positive steps to reduce the power tariff.
SteelMint learned from the sources that 6% power tariff duty might be waved off and night power tariff may be reduced if the concern will be addressed to CSEB (Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board).
However, Furnace conversion was already in pressure since last couple of months due to low finish long demand and squeezing conversion. Conversion from Sponge to MS Ingot at present is at Rs 8,000/MT, which should be idly Rs 8,800-9500/MT.
Mini Steel Plant in Raipur has given instruction to operate the plant in 50% capacity to all its members, so that power consumption can be reduced, which will create pressure on the electricity demand in the state.
