Kolhapur (West India)

Kolhapur market sentiment remained stable w-o-w. Foundry plate (4-8 mm) prices were unchanged at INR 38,500/t, while Low Mn CR-busheling prices held at INR 43,000/t.

Market participants reported steady buying interest for quality scrap, although the absence of any significant supply tightness kept prices unchanged during the week.

Kolkata (East India)

Kolkata market sentiment remained stable w-o-w, with foundry plate (4-8 mm) prices unchanged at INR 39,250/t.

Buying activity remained largely requirement-based, while balanced supply-demand conditions kept sellers’ price expectations stable.

Chennai & Coimbatore (South India)

Southern markets remained stable for the second consecutive week.

In Coimbatore, foundry plate (8-50 mm) prices remained unchanged at INR 37,600/t, while Low Mn CR-busheling prices held at INR 44,000/t. Market activity remained steady, with buyers continuing to adopt a cautious procurement approach.

In Chennai, foundry plate (8-50 mm) prices were unchanged at INR 35,800/t, while Low Mn CR-busheling remained at INR 42,200/t. Demand continued to be largely need-based, limiting significant price movement.

India’s foundry scrap market is expected to remain stable to largely stable in the near term, supported by steady demand from automotive and engineering casting sectors and balanced material availability.
