India's Finished Steel statistics Y-O-Y

India's total finished steel consumption in the current fiscal year (2013-2014) till July '13 recorded 0.4% growth to 24.1 million tonnes (MnT) as compared to the same period of last fiscal (2012-2013), as per the details provisionally released by the Joint Plant Committee (JPC), a part of Indian Ministry of Steel.
As per the release data, in the current fiscal year till July '13, Non-alloy Steel consumption rose to 1.9% to 22.9 MnT as compared to the same period of last fiscal. However, Alloy Steel consumption dropped by 21.8% to 1.2 MnT as compared to last fiscal.
Country's total Finished steel production for sale also rose by 5.2% Y-o-Y to 26.6 MnT in April-July 2013. The Maharatna awarded main steel producer, SAIL's production rose to 0.7% Y-o-Y to 3.3 MnT, RINL's production rose to 8.7% Y-o-Y to 0.92 MnT and the Tata Steel's production recorded a growth of 23% Y-o-Y to 2.3 MnT ,for April – July 2013.
In the same period, India's finished steel imports slid by 36.4% Y-o-Y to 1.8 MnT in which contribution of the non-alloy steel segment stood at 1.4 MnT (decline of 35.7 %), while the rest was the share of the alloy steel segment (including stainless steel).
India's export of finished steel also dropped by 4.1% Y-o-Y to 1.4 MnT in which contribution of the non-alloy steel segment stood at 1.26 MnT (decline of near 6%), while the rest was the share of the alloy steel segment (including stainless steel).
