India: Finish Long Steel Imports Remain Constant in CY19

Imports of Finish long steel in India remain stable Y-o-Y in CY19, as per the custom data maintained with SteelMint.

India’s Finish long steel imports (non-alloy) registered at 0.47 MnT in CY19 (Jan-Dec), which is constant as against 0.47 MnT in CY18.

Commodity wise- Rebar imports recorded at 0.27 MnT in CY19, up by 22.72% as against 0.22 MnT in CY18, followed by Wire Rod 0.14 MnT in CY19 (-17.64%) as compared to 0.17 MnT in CY18 and Structure (Angle/Channel) import was 0.06 MnT in CY19, up by 14.28% as against 0.07 MnT in CY18.

Load Country wise- Singapore rose as the top exporter of finished long steel to India with 0.10 MnT in CY19, enlarged by 66.67% as compared to the previous year against 0.06 MnT and the same figures were registered from South Korea and China i.e. 0.10 MnT (+66.67%) and 0.07 MnT (-36.36%) in CY’19 respectively, as against 0.11 MnT in CY18.

Unload port wise- JNPT registered as the top unloading port at 0.10 MnT in CY19 which is measured down by 28.57% against 0.14 MnT in CY18 followed by Kattupalli port at 0.10 MnT in CY19 up by 25% against 0.08 MnT in CY18 and Chennai port stood at 0.09 MnT in CY19 down by 25% against 0.12 MnT in CY18.
