Melting scrap prices witnessed minor changes in a few regions of the country on 30 Jul’21. Prices remained supported in the southern region due to marginal improvement in semi-finished steel prices, particularly in the Chennai market. On the other hand, prices corrected in Punjab owing to limited buying enquiries over stringent departmental monitoring of inter-state movements of material to prevent unaccounted for transactions. However, prices remained stable in other markets on stable procurement, sources said.
