India: Ferrous scrap prices decline on poor finished steel demand

Steel melting scrap prices observed a major correction of up to INR 500/t across scrap-based markets in the country on 28 Jun’21, with the exception of Ludhiana in Punjab due mainly to supported semis prices, as per SteelMint reports. Prices declined across markets owing to poor off take of finished steel products during the typically lean rainy season. Prices could fluctuate within a narrow range in the near term, trader sources told SteelMint.
