India: Ferrous scrap imports rise over 20% m-o-m, in Aug’22

India imported 541,394 t of ferrous scrap in Aug’22, higher by 24% from 435,191 t in Jul’22, as per customs data maintained with SteelMint.
The UAE continued to be the largest supplier at 117,141 t followed by the USA at 75,264 t and the UK at 46,692 t.
Import volumes in Jan-Aug’22 totalled 3.03 mnt, a 15% rise as compared to the same period last year.
