India: Ferrous scrap import prices up $5-10/t

Ferrous scrap import offers to India increased by $5-10/t today compared to the week ending 4 Jun’21. Although market sentiments are slightly soft, a few buyers have been heard placing inquiries.

• SteelMint’s bi-weekly assessment for UAE-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap is at $480-485/t, CFR Nhava Sheva.
• SteelMint’s bi-weekly assessment for containerised shredded scrap of UK-origin stands at around $520-525/t, CFR Nhava Sheva, having risen about $5-7/t against last week.
