Indian ferrochrome prices have risen by an astonishing INR 15,000/t w-o-w. This sharp rise can be attributed to the increase in Chinese domestic prices due to rising production costs clubbed with limited production. Meanwhile, prices of Stainless steel have also increased, providing the buyers a margin to pay higher for ferrochrome. Quotations increased to INR 96,000/t Ex-Jajpur yesterday; however, a deal for 300t of HC 60% ferrochrome is concluded at INR 95,000/t today.
