India: Ferro titanium prices stable amid regular buying

  • Steady supply supports market stability
  • Regular buying keeps prices supported

India’s ferro titanium prices remained stable w-o-w at INR 370,000/t ($3,882/t) exw-India, as steady supply and demand, along with regular buying, kept the market balanced. Trading activity remained consistent, with neither buyers nor suppliers showing any indication of shifting prevailing price levels.

India’s stainless steel market remained firm but mixed, with tight scrap availability and elevated replacement costs supporting mill offers despite moderate buying interest. Flat products remained rangebound, while long products strengthened on higher scrap costs. Positive domestic enquiries and limited import availability provided some support, although demand remained selective ahead of the festive season.

China’s ferro titanium market remained stable to slightly firmer, supported by stronger steel mill tender activity and improving seasonal demand. Producers continued to control output and resisted further price concessions as stable input costs provided a floor to prices. Although mills continued seeking lower prices, increased procurement and firmer producer resistance supported the market.

Outlook

India’s ferro titanium prices are expected to remain stable next week, supported by balanced supply-demand conditions and regular buying. Limited procurement is likely to keep prices rangebound.
