- Regular buying supports ferro titanium demand
- Stable supply keeps availability balanced
India’s ferro titanium prices remained stable w-o-w at INR 370,000/t ($3,855/t) exw-India, as steady supply and demand, along with regular buying, kept the market balanced. Spot activity remained a bit moderate, with buyers continuing to procure against immediate requirements and suppliers maintaining previous offers.
On the end user front, India’s stainless steel market remained firm but cautious, supported by steady domestic demand, firm scrap prices and elevated input costs. However, moderate downstream demand, volatile nickel prices and subdued festival-period buying limited broader gains. Tight raw material availability and high freight costs also kept spot activity selective, while subdued export demand continued to weigh on market sentiment.
China’s ferro titanium market remained stable but weak, as pre-holiday steel mill stocking was largely complete and new enquiries slowed. Producers maintained order-based output and held prices steady, while traders focused on clearing existing stocks. Softer sponge titanium weakened cost support for higher grade ferro titanium, while stable aluminium powder provided better support to lower grade material.
Outlook
India’s ferro titanium prices are expected to remain stable in the coming week, supported by balanced supply-demand conditions and regular buying. However, cautious downstream demand and weak Chinese sentiment may limit price gains.
