The demand for Ferro Silicon in the market has been observed to be low but constant, although the steel market is on downward trend.
SteelMint assessed that there is a balanced demand-supply situation for Ferro Silicon in the domestic market, which is holding the prices at its position.
The current offers for Ferro Silicon is INR 71,000/MT (Ex-Bhutan) and INR 70,000/MT (Ex-Guwahati).
As per a buyer source, high Ferro Silicon production in Malaysia depicts a challenging situation for Indian producers but acquisition of the same is currently expensive than available from Bhutan. Hence, this indicates that Malaysian Ferro Silicon does not pose a threat as of now.
In line with the present scenario of global steel industry, Ferro Silicon prices are also under pressure, and is currently being offered in range of USD 1,075-1,085/MT FOB Kolkata.
SteelMint assessed that in the coming 1-2 weeks, Indian Ferro Silicon market should run steadily and prices may stay at current levels.
