India: Ferro silicon imports rise 10% m-o-m in Nov’22

India’s ferro silicon imports increased by 10% m-o-m to 21,307 t in Nov’22 compared to 19,357 t in Oct’22, as per customs data.
Imported material seemed cost-effective to Indian buyers compared to domestic alternatives. This resulted in higher imports.
The major exporters were Bhutan (9,757t), China (7,118 t), Malaysia (1,756 t) and Norway (459 t).
The cumulative import volumes in Jan-Nov’22 fell by 6% m-o-m to 209,127 t.
