India exported 1.3 MnT Iron Ore in Dec’13

India was the 3rd largest exporter of Iron ore before mining ban in Karnataka and Goa because of illegalities. India exported 100.9 MnT of Iron ore in FY10 which came down to 18 MnT FY13 owing to drop in production to 147 MnT in FY13.

In the month of December, India has exported 1.3 MnT of Iron ore from Indian ports. Iron ore export increased by 24.8% M-o-M. Iron ore demand from Steel mills and traders are high as restocking of Iron ore had take placed in Dec’13.

Bagadiya Brothers was the biggest exporter at 0.9 MnT and major export of Iron ore was from Paradip Port at 0.56 MnT.

Ports such as Mormugoa, Krishnapatnam, Mundra, Karaikal, Kakinada and Mangalore have been considered; no Iron ore export was seen in Dec’13

Iron Ore export down by 36% in Q3 FY14

In Q3 FY14, Iron ore export from India was about 3.2 MnT that’s a decrease of 1.8 MnT in comparison to Q2. Iron ore export increased in Q2 because of high spot Iron ore prices in china and week Indian rupee against US Dollar.
