Export prices for plates have increased slightly, with Steel Authority of India (SAIL) being the first to increase the prices.
Currently the export price to be offered stands in the range of $515-520/MT on free on board basis, compared to $510-515/MT a few weeks ago.
The price increase by most of the manufacturers is said due to the improvement in global flat steel market, rather than an uptick in demand for exports, said market participants.
