ESL Steel is undertaking planned maintenance shutdown of one of its blast furnaces. The maintainence is likely to take place from 18 May for 45 days, SteelMint learnt from sources. It may be mentioned that ESL has two blast furnaces of a combined capacity of 1,400 cubic meter and tentative production of hot metal from these furnaces is 5,000- 5,500 t/day.
In addition, ESL’s wire-rod mill is likely to undergo maintenance shutdown for two weeks from 18 May.
