- Weak demand keeps ERW patra prices under pressure
- HR strip, billet prices decline by INR 50-150/t w-o-w
ERW patra pipe (41-60 OD) prices stayed firm d-o-d and w-o-w in Raipur at INR 44,200/tonne (t) exw and in Mandi Gobindgarh at INR 45,200/t exw on 16 May 2025. The market was quiet amid persistently weak demand.

Market updates
Raw material prices decline w-o-w: Prices of raw materials for ERW patra pipes, that is HR strips and billets, largely declined w-o-w.
HR strip (patra) prices declined by INR 100/t to INR 44,000/t exw-Raipur on 16 May, compared to INR 43,900/t exw-Raipur on 9 May. However, patra prices in Mandi held steady w-o-w at INR 44,200/t exw.
Steel billet prices in Raipur dropped by INR 150/t w-o-w to INR 39,850/t exw on 16 May, compared to INR 40,000/t on 9 May. Additionally, billet tags in Mandi inched down by INR 50/t w-o-w to INR 42,450/t DAP on 16 May, compared to INR 42,500/t last week.
Outlook
ERW patra pipe prices are expected to remain under pressure in the near term due to sluggish demand and easing raw material costs.
