- Raw material costs increase, lifting pipe prices
- Trade remains slow amid need-based purchases
India’s ERW patra pipe prices (41-60 OD) increased w-o-w in Raipur and Mandi Gobindgarh. However, throughout the week, prices remained volatile. On a d-o-d basis, ERW patra pipe prices dropped by INR 100/t in Raipur and remained stable in Mandi Gobindgarh.
ERW patra pipe prices were at INR 38,500/t in Raipur and INR 42,200/t in Mandi Gobindgarh. Listed prices are ex-works (exw), excluding 18% GST.
Price assessments (w-o-w)
Raipur: ERW patra pipe prices increased by INR 100/t w-o-w to INR 38,500/t exw-Raipur on 21 November as compared to INR 38,400/t on 14 November. Despite this price fluctuation, demand in the region remained slow, and trade activities were low, as buyers limited purchases to need-based requirements.
Mandi: ERW patra pipe prices rose by INR 500/t w-o-w to INR 42,200/t exw-Mandi Gobindgarh on 21 November as compared to INR 41,700/t a week ago. However, trade volumes remained low amid subdued demand.

Raw material price trends
Prices of key raw materials such as hot-rolled strip (patra) and billets declined in both Raipur and Mandi compared to last week.
HR strip (patra) prices in Raipur stood at INR 37,800/t exw-Raipur, down by INR 200/t w-o-w against INR 38,000/t on 14 November. However, patra prices in Mandi Gobindgarh rose by INR 400/t w-o-w to INR 41,100/t exw-Mandi on 21 November as compared to INR 40,700/t last week.
Billet prices in Raipur edged up by INR 150/t w-o-w to INR 35,600/t exw-Raipur on 21 November against INR 35,450/t on 14 November. Moreover, in Mandi Gobindgarh, billet prices increased by INR 450/t to 39,750/t exw-Mandi from INR 39,300/t on 14 November.
Outlook
Demand for ERW patra pipes in Raipur and Mandi Gobindgarh is expected to stay subdued in the near term, with buyers making need‑based purchases only. Low trade volumes and lingering raw material price volatility will likely keep market activity slow in the short term.
