ERW patra pipe (41-60 OD) prices showed a downtrend w-o-w in Raipur and Mandi Gobindgarh. Raipur prices dropped by INR 500/tonne (t) w-o-w, and by INR 800/t w-o-w in Mandi.
In Raipur, prices stood at around INR 44,700/t exw on 2 May 2025, down by INR 500/t from INR 45,200/t on 25 April. Trade volumes of around ???t were recorded this week.
In Mandi, prices fell by INR 800/t, w-o-w on Friday to INR 45,200/t compared to INR 46,000/t last week. Trade volumes of around ???t were recorded this week.
Listed prices are ex-works (exw), excluding 18% GST.
On a d-o-d basis, prices fell by INR 100/t in Raipur but increased by INR 200/t in Mandi.
The market was sluggish, with demand being generally weak.

Raw materials prices decline w-o-w: HR strip (patra) prices declined by INR 700/t w-o-w to INR 44,200/t exw-Raipur as on 2 May compared to INR 44,900/t exw-Raipur on 25 April. Likewise, patra prices in Mandi declined by INR 800/t w-o-w to INR 44,200/t exw compared to INR 45,000/t exw a week ago.
Steel billet prices in Raipur went down by INR 450/t w-o-w to INR 40,300/t exw on 2 May, compared to INR 40,750/t on 25 April. Also, billet prices in Mandi recorded a decline of INR 550/t w-o-w to INR 42,550/t DAP on 2 May, compared to INR 43,100/t last week.
Outlook
The ERW patra pipe market will likely remain under pressure in the short term unless demand significantly improves. Without production adjustments to match weak demand, price volatility is expected to persist, leading buyers to limit purchases to immediate needs and maintaining a cautious, wait-and-see approach.
