Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), one of the sole power suppliers to the West Bengal-based industries, has raised power tariffs to INR 6.30/unit against INR 4.90/unit earlier, effective from Aug’22 month electricity bills.
The rise in tariff charges will put an additional burden on the industries as production costs of standalone furnaces and hot charging plants will increase by around INR 1,000-1,500/t, depending on load factor.
