Central and eastern India based pellets maker shared improving buying interest due to increasing sponge prices.
In Durgapur (eastern India) pellet price assessment has increased INR 100/MT W-o-W. Reference pellet price assessment for Durgapur stands at INR 5,400-5,500/MT (delivered) this week. P-DRI prices have increased sharply by INR 900/MT W-o-W to INR 19,000/MT (delivered) against INR 18,100/MT (delivered) last assessment.
Few trade sources also reported that the pellet prices are not increasing substantially, in proportion to sponge prices which have been increasing from the last few days. However, sellers are hopeful of improved buying sentiments in coming days, if prices of P-DRI sustain this momentum.
