India: Domestic coal prices surge amid limited imported coal availability

India’s domestic coal prices rose against the backdrop of limited imported coal stock in the country and its higher prices along with increased bids in CIL auctions. Last week, the average weekly price of 4500 GCV ROM coal in Wani, (Maharashtra) was INR 10,934/t, up by INR 934/t w-o-w. Prices of 5800 GCV ROM were recorded at INR 13,334/t in Ramgarh (Jharkhand), up by INR 1,068 /t w-o-w.
