Domestic coal prices in the open market have risen sharply because of limited supply in the local market with CIL reducing the quantity for the e-auction. Today prices, in the Wani, Maharashtra for 4500 GCV Steam coal is INR 11,600/t, up by INR 1,850/t d-o-d and in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh for 4500 GCV Steam coal is INR 8,775/t, up by INR 900/t d-o-d.
