Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) – a wing of Ministry of Commerce, India has recommended imposition of countervailing duty (CVD) certain steel products from Indonesia to protect domestic manufacturers from subsidized imports. This has been made after DGTR found Indonesia exporting ‘Flat Products of Stainless Steel’ to India at subsidized prices because of which domestic steel industry suffered material injury.
