Indian steelmakers collectively produced 9.673 mn t of crude steel in Sep’21, which was 2% lower than 9.85 mn t produced in Aug, as per provisional data released by the Joint Plant Committee (JPC), Ministry of Steel. Sluggish demand in the domestic market due to the extended monsoon weighed on output during the typically subdued month for steel production, SteelMint notes.
