Automobile component producers based in north India have received bids for fresh cold rolled close annealed scrap (CRCA) at around INR 41,000-42,600/t exw at auctions recently. SteelMint learnt from sources that sluggish demand in the spot market is due to poor offtake of finished steel products. However, the scrap auctions are receiving good response, sources informed.
