Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) planned a fund of INR 50 crore to promote manufacturing of biomass pellets in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Ministry of Power had suggested use of 5-10% of biomass pellets in coal-fired power plants but due to scarcity of manufacturers, this could not be achieved.
