India : Coking coal imports decrease marginally in May’22

India’s coking coal imports in May 2022 stood at 5.04 mnt, a decrease of 1.5% m-o-m. As per CoalMint data, imports from Australia and Russia fell by 11% and 73% respectively m-o-m but increased from USA, Canada and Mozambique. The fall in imports from Australia was because of higher prices while from Russia was due to Russia-Ukraine conflict.
