Cochin Shipyard has signed an MoU with HD Korea to expand shipbuilding capacity. Its 310m dry dock will build large ships like Suezmax tankers and bulk carriers. A INR 3,700 crore block plant in Kochi and INR 15,000 crore shipyard in Tamil Nadu are planned. These projects will boost technology and support Maritime India Vision 2030, increasing cargo handling capacity to more then 3,300 mnt.
