Coal stockpiles at Indian power plants touched a three-year low of 8.65 mn t on 24 Sep’21, which is sufficient only for five days of usage, Central Electricity Authority (CEA) data shows. Out of the data for 103 power plants with CEA, 29 plants have less than seven days of coal stock left, whereas 66 plants have less than four days of thermal coal stock left with them.
